When Should You Visit? (Best Time)

September to March is the best season to visit the backwaters. If you love rain and greenery, monsoon (August) offers a different kind of houseboat cruise experience when the water level rises.

Does AC run all day on a houseboat?
In premium houseboats, AC usually runs from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM (when the boat is parked). If you need all-day AC, you can book a 'Luxury' or 'Ultra-Luxury Glass Houseboat' with 24/7 AC.
What does the food menu include?
Your houseboat includes a personal chef. A welcome drink, lunch (rice, sambar, veg curries, fish fry/chicken), evening tea/snacks, and dinner are served. The menu can be customized in advance for pure veg, Jain meals, or specific allergies.
Does the boat keep moving at night?
No. Due to government regulations and fishermen's safety, houseboats cannot operate on the lake after 5:30 PM. The boat is anchored at a safe scenic village shore, where you spend the night.
Will I face motion sickness on a houseboat?
Backwater water is not like the open sea. It stays calm and smooth, with almost no waves. Motion sickness on a houseboat is very rare.
